CURRICULUM
Nurserydance - (Suggested ages: 3-4) An introduction to dance with an emphasis on fun! Class uses music, movement, and coordination activities along with basic ballet, tap, and acrobatic techniques.

Combo I - (Suggested ages: 4-5) Formal introduction to dance, concentrating on ballet, jazz, tap, and acrobatics. Students will begin learning basic terminology and positions of dance forms as they develop their skills and coordination.

Combo II - (Suggested ages: 5-6) A continuation of the young dancer's exposure to the various dance forms including ballet, jazz, tap, and acrobatics. Students will build upon the basics as they explore and develop more advanced dance skills.

Ballet - (Suggested ages: 6 and older) Students are taught ban-e and center floor techniques, as well as traveling exercises. Emphasis is placed on body alignment, turnout, building vocabulary and strengthening the body.

Pointe - Advanced ballet technique. Placement in this class requires teacher recommendation and student must be simultaneously enrolled in two other ballet classes.

Jazz - (Suggested ages: 6 and older) Jazz technique is taught to contemporary music. Study includes isolations, stretching exercises and dance combinations.

Tap - (Suggested ages: 6 and older) Students are taught tap techniques and vocabulary while developing rhythm, coordination, and style.

Acrobatics - (For all ages) Gymnastic and tumbling skills are taught along with body strengthening, stretching, and coordination exercises.

Lyrical - (Suggested ages: 7 and older) This dance form utilizes a Ballet and Jazz base knowledge in exploring the lyrical content of the music being danced to. The movement often has a soft and flowing quality and dancers concentrate on emotional expression as part of the dance itself.

Competition Class - A class designed to develop and rehearse large group pieces (involving the entire team) for competition.

Competition Rehearsal classes - These one hour weekly classes are intended for the various Competition Team groups (Mini Junior, and Senior) to rehearse their specific routines being prepared for National Talent Competitions.

Hip Hop - Street and dance club influenced style of jazz dance. Known for its fast and energetic pace, this creative form of dance is often seen in music videos.
